What makes us different

Residency-level training, explained in plain language.

Dr. Jankowski completed an Advanced Education in General Dentistry residency with the U.S. Air Force, earned his Fellowship in the Academy of General Dentistry in 2008, a distinction held by fewer than 6% of general dentists, and is a Pankey Institute alumnus. He talks you through what's happening while he works, tells you honestly which sedation level fits your case, and refers out when someone else is the better answer.

01 · Calm

Three levels of sedation

Nitrous oxide you can drive home from, oral conscious sedation for a deeper calm, or IV conscious sedation adjusted throughout the procedure. Dr. Jankowski matches the level to your case.

02 · Remove

Wisdom teeth & extractions

Impacted or angled wisdom teeth and multiple extractions can be done in one sedated visit instead of several stressful ones. Cases better suited to an oral surgeon are referred honestly.

03 · Urgent

$29 emergency toothache exam

Severe toothache, broken tooth, or a knocked-out tooth. New patients get an emergency exam for $29. Call and we'll get you in.

04 · Restore

Implants, crowns & dentures

Dental implants, crowns, bridges, and dentures, scanned with a digital intraoral scanner instead of goopy impression trays.

05 · Family

Kids, aligners & whitening

Pediatric dentistry with a Cavity Free Kids Club, Invisalign clear aligners, and professional whitening for the whole family.

06 · Local

Meet Your Dentist

Dr. Patrick Jankowski, DDS, FAGD

Dr. J earned a Bachelor of Science in Biotechnology at the University of Nebraska and his DDS from Creighton University School of Dentistry in 2000. He then served as a captain in the United States Air Force, completing an Advanced Education in General Dentistry residency at Langley AFB with extensive training in oral surgery, prosthetics, periodontics, endodontics, and orthodontics, and was stationed at Cannon AFB, New Mexico. From 2003 to 2025 he practiced in Lawrence, Kansas, before joining Wellsville Family Dental.

He earned his Fellowship in the Academy of General Dentistry in 2008, is a Pankey Institute alumnus, and is working toward his AGD Mastership. Patients tell him that his habit of explaining what's happening while he works is what calms them down. Off the clock he's outdoors, at classic car shows, or working on the farm.

"Many of my patients like the fact that I talk to them while I work and keep them informed about what is happening. They tell me it gives them more of a sense of calm."

Wellsville Family Dental is at 501 Main St, Wellsville, KS 66092, serving Wellsville, Baldwin City, Edgerton, Gardner, and Ottawa.

Questions we hear a lot

Answers before you even call.

What insurance do you take?

We accept most major dental plans, including Aetna, Ameritas, Assurant/DHA/Sun Life, Blue Cross Blue Shield (Kansas, KC, and FEP Blue Dental), Cigna, Delta Dental of Kansas (Premier and PPO), GEHA, Guardian, Humana, MetLife, Principal, and UnitedHealthcare. Call (785) 883-2222 and we'll check your plan while you're on the phone.

What if I don't have insurance?

Ask about the VIP Membership Plan: $33 per month (or $399 per year) covers your exams, cleanings, and routine X-rays, plus 20% off other treatment, with no deductibles, waiting periods, or annual maximums. A VIP Perio plan is available for periodontal maintenance. CareCredit financing is also available.

Will I be asleep for sedation?

No. With nitrous oxide, oral conscious sedation, and IV conscious sedation you stay conscious and able to respond, but deeply relaxed, and many patients remember little of the visit. None of our options are general anesthesia. With oral or IV sedation you'll need someone to drive you home.

Should I use sedation for wisdom teeth?

Many patients do, especially when more than one tooth is coming out. Dr. Jankowski reviews your X-rays and recommends the level that fits your case, and if a case is better suited to an oral surgeon he'll tell you.

What are your hours?

Monday 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM, Tuesday through Thursday 7:30 AM to 4:00 PM. Closed Friday through Sunday.

Do you see kids?

Yes. Pediatric dentistry is part of the practice, including the Cavity Free Kids Club with a certificate, sticker, and monthly prize drawings for cavity-free checkups.

Where are you located?

501 Main St, Wellsville, KS 66092, a short drive from Baldwin City, Edgerton, Gardner, and Ottawa.
